The elevator also has a former Frisco high nose GP-9 that was originally in Frisco colors then years later blue replace the red and now the whole engine is gray with yellow trim. Another New Orleans set of switcher that are no longer around are the Ryan Walsh switchers, #1 and #2. Ryan Walsh was a bulk terminal located near the Gentilly L&N yard and handled primarily coal that was loaded onto ships for transport overseas. Note the chevrons, this is what identified one engine from the other. The engines were later painted a dark blue with yellow handrails before being retired and the terminal shutdown. |
